All The Things I’m Doing For COVID-19 Protection

As you all know – COVID-19 is not a virus we want to come in contact with or get infected with if we can help it  – it’s a killer for too many people.

Fortunately it looks like we are starting to see a ‘flattening of the curve’ and our isolation measures are working. It’s still too early to tell but we need to keep on being hygienic, keeping our distance from people, limiting time outside our home and working on our immune systems.

The human body is designed to win! We have an amazing fighting force made up of army divisions, air-force fighter jets and naval attack vessels all known as our immune system. This complex system consists of white blood cells, the thymus, the spleen, the lymphatics, antibodies, the complement system and our bone marrow. This powerful force is active all day dealing with multiple invasions.

Our thymus gland is central to our defence programming. It is the same size as out heart when we are born and is responsible for developing antibodies to bacteria, viruses, micro-organisms, pollutants etc and these antibodies memorise these invasions and can prime the defences if exposed to them down the track. The thymus also trains T-Cells to fight cancer. The thymus gland significantly reduces in size as we age and causes our defence capabilities to lose their effectiveness.

COVID-19 is a new (mutated) virus that no one has previously been exposed to. Those that have strong genetic constitutions and those who have diligently looked after their health through good eating, regular exercise, drinking lots of water, getting out in the sun, good sleep, and a good mental attitude will be in a better position to mount a strong defence if and when they are exposed to COVID-19.

Most of our population have not been all that diligent and so we are seeing varied levels of infection and symptoms. Older people who have mostly exhausted their vital force will find it difficult to mount a strong defence.

However, it is never too late to fight back and strengthen the immune system ready to take the fight to the enemy. There are many things we can do to improve thymus gland function, boost our white blood cell numbers and support our immune system to ward off any pathogenic disease and renew our vital forces for optimal defence into the future.

Firstly, we need to activate and mobilise our defence systems. Below I have listed some time-honoured Naturopathic techniques and understandings I and many of my colleagues have used for many decades:

  1. Activate the Reserves: after a hot shower, spend about 30 seconds under cold water. It’s a shock but your body will react by calling up reserves of white blood cells from your bone marrow. We actually have about 50 billion white blood cells on reserves in the bone marrow at any one time.
  2. Develop a Bitter Palate: Learn to use and enjoy bitter foods as they promote liver and immune-system health whereas sweet foods drain our vital forces.
  3. Maintain Squeaky Clean Teeth: Dental plaque is a mass of bacteria that grows on the surfaces of the mouth providing the perfect breeding ground for micro-organisms – this can create a systemic time-bomb. Get your teeth cleaned every 6 months at the dentist, and make sure you floss, brush and oil-pull daily.
  4. Stimulate the Thymus Gland: Tap, pat or thump the centre of your chest (like a gorilla) and this helps the activity of the thymus.
  5. Gently Stimulate the Lymphatic System: Bounce on a trampoline or skip for 5 to 10 minutes daily.
  6. Get Over 8 Hours Sleep a Night: However long you think you sleep each night, you can take 1 hour off that time in reality. You can’t count how long it takes you to fall asleep or wake up or any disruptions during the night.
  7. Take High Dose C-Max Powder/Liposomal C: It is a balanced formula with many forms of Vit C and it’s fortified with bioflavonoids, antioxidants and amino acids. 1 tsp daily will saturate your bloods with this wonderful Vitamin.
